I will overwhelm 'serious fighter' Paul - Anthony Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

The British boxer prepares to battle Jake Paul in an eight round fight which will be shown live on Netflix.

Briton Anthony Joshua declared he will "overwhelm entirely" Jake Paul and "break" the American as the pair came face-to-face to publicize next month's heavyweight fight.

Ex twice unified heavyweight champion Joshua meets YouTuber-turned-boxer Paul - in what is, on paper, a huge disparity - at Miami's Kaseya Center on 19 December.

Boxer's Mindset

"I plan to break his face and hurt his body. My goal is to show I'm the better fighter," Joshua, 35 years old, said.

"I plan to overwhelm him. That's a fighter's mentality.

"I'm going to genuinely try to injure him. That's my goal."

Civil Interaction

Despite such comments, a composed Joshua and internet personality Paul - usually known for his showmanship - exchanged pleasantries and kept it respectful with each other.

Jake Paul instead attacked ex Joshua opponent the Cameroonian fighter and described him as "a joke" after the Cameroonian turned down a bout proposal.

Targeting Fury

Anthony Joshua, in the meantime, targeted UK opponent Tyson Fury - and refused a £1m bet 'Tyson Fury' claims he will make on a victory for Paul.

"[Paul] is superior to Fury - he showed up," Joshua commented.

"I respect him for that."

Legitimate Fighter

Despite saying he intends to punish Paul, Joshua refused to comment unfavorably about his rival's boxing ability.

"Jake Paul is a credible opponent," he remarked.

Paul's Background

Paul - who initially became famous on the television network - has mainly fought MMA fighters or declining opponents since turning professional.

He lost to Briton Fury in last year.

Commercial Attraction

Nevertheless, the relative newcomer continues to be one of boxing's largest financial successes, consistently making huge earnings.

Forecast and Confidence

The 28 year old predicted a KO victory in rounds four or five and claimed he would derail the highly-expected Joshua–Fury fight, which is reportedly being planned for two years from now.

"The next fight will be me versus Tyson Fury next year," Jake Paul stated.

Physical Difference

As Joshua and Paul engaged in the traditional face-off, with their size difference clearly visible, it emphasized just how improbable this whole event is - and how amazing it is that the fight is really happening.
